Custom Conversions
Building miniatures is the part of this hobby I enjoy second only to putting the finishing touches on a miniature and calling it finished. Here in the Chop-Shop many conversions have been done over the years. Back when the majority of 40k models were metal, and the variety was limited, this was the way. While much more arduous and time consuming than kitbashing a plastic model, for me it so much more rewarding in the end.

Building an all metal looted dreadnought
Looted Space Marine Dreadnought
This build is one of my favorites! The concept, in 2000, was to combine a 2nd Edition Space Marine Dreadnought with a 3rd Edition Ork Dreadnought. As you can see the from the images above, a great deal of sawing and filing through pewter was needed to achieve the effect.
The Looted Crimson Fists Dreadnought features bitz from many different kits, some scratch built metal piping, and a custom 80mm base.
