Painting other's miniatures is not really my focus, but I do on occasion paint models for others to keep in their own display cases.
For me, the goal is painting to a high display quality, honoring the aesthetic and standard set by Games Workshop and the 'Eavy Metal team. I grew up in this hobby during 2nd and 3rd Editions so my style reflects what I like about that era, while using modern techniques to achieve a believable effect.
Sometimes that means painting in a more retro fashion, while other times a non-metallic metal technique is used, which was not a way models were painted back in the 90's. A blend of crisp believability and subtle highlights is what I prefer over extreme edge highlighting.
If you like the miniatures you see featured here, let me know. Miniature painting is done on a case by case basis.
Eldar is not an army I collect, however, it is my brother's main army. We have been in this together since the beginning, and while he is a competent painter in his own right, he requested a miniature painted by me for his display case.
I was more than happy to oblige.

This little Gnome Friend was a birthday gift to my OAO.
He is removable from his jewelry box so he can roam around the meadow. She often refers to ALL miniatures as 40 hammers, to coin a phrase, which is where the name comes from. It's a play on Warhammer 40,000 that rolls off the tongue a little easier and implies we are talking about models of 40k.
